Campoma endlers - Nr 47 Blue star
Originally collected by Bastien Voisin - Laguna Campoma, 2011-2012. Bridge in Campoma Village.
This is another controversial strain - there has been much debate about the validity of this fish - is it a wild type endler or nor.
I believe it is, and am treating it as such.
I keep two strains.
Strain 1: I got this group from Lene Enlien, she got them from Erik-Schjøth-Waaler who imported his stock from George Funkner in the UK.
I was given this as a pure Nr47 blue star group, but someone told me that the male lacking the orange spot by his dorsal fin is a clear sign of hybridization with Japan blue guppies. But Phil (Philip Voisin) told me that, and I quote - "Japan Blue would lay on all back of the fsh and cover black . To me just a variation" -P.Voisin
Here is the male that was first thought to be a hybrid, he clearly has quite a lot of black colouration/dark blue which should have been all covered if he was a hybrid with japan blue. I gave him away, so I can't do the following test to check (keep his daugters (JB gene) and cross it with other another morph. They should give 50% JB young males)
Strain 2: I ordered this group at a petshop in Oslo who got them from Imazo.se
I was dissaponted to see that they were swimming with some other phenotypes - one of Adrian's strains - the yellow topsword, so I was hoping to be able to have a P-class strain of Blue stars, but now I don't feel comfortable calling them anything but "wild type Blue stars".
I have some fry from them and will see how they turn out.
